The El Paso County Department of Human Services opened its new Customer
Service Call Center at 719.444.5349.
This number is staffed for the purpose of answering questions and resolving
concerns of current Food Stamp and Family Medicaid clients.

Bad Habitz Benefit Concert
Help Bad Habitz get to San Antonio! As you might already know, Bad Habitz has
been invited to perform at the 2008 Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair in San Antonio,
Texas. The Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair is scheduled for
March 6 - 9, 2008.
Bad Habitz is honored to have been selected to perform and represent Colorado
at the 2008 Tejano Music Awards. There will be a fundraiser to help pay for the
bands expenses to get to San Antonio on Saturday,
February 16th at Pueblo Community College. There will a dance ,a
chance to win prizes and a silent auction. Tickets are available at Music Man.
Colorado Civil Rights Office Is Now Open
The Colorado Civil Rights Division’s Southern Colorado regional office, located
in Pueblo, is now fully staffed and is open to serve the public from 8:30 a.m.
to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Colorado Civil Rights Division accepts complaints of discrimination in
the areas of employment, housing, and public accommodation. The Division’s
Pueblo office location is 200 West “B” Street, Suite 234.

School District 11 Announces English Language Classes For Adults
The Colorado Springs School District 11 Adult and Family Education Office, 917
East Moreno Avenue, offers English classes for adult learners from 8:30 to 11:15
a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays (beginner level) and Tuesdays and Thursdays
(intermediate level). Evening classes are offered from 6 to 8:45 p.m. on
Tuesdays and Thursdays for all levels.
A registration fee of $30 is required. Please call 328-2975 about tuition rates.
Registration for morning classes takes place at 9 a.m. on Jan. 30, Feb. 25,
March 17 and May 20, 22 and 27
Registration for evening classes is at 6 p.m. on Jan. 29, Feb. 26 and 28, and
March 18; at 6:30 p.m. on May 20, 22 and 27.

Notice to Contractors
Colorado Springs School District No. Eleven’s 2006-2009 Capital Construction
Program has many projects that will be available for participating pre-qualified
contractors. The District has completed its pre-qualification evaluations and
individual pre-qualified contractors scores are available on the District web
site, at www.d11.org. Click on Business
Opportunities. Shortly, letters will be sent to all contractors pre-qualified
with Colorado Springs School District No. 11, notifying them of their
classification status and eligibility to compete in future solicitations within
their bonding capability and selection category. As information, the District
has selected ten (10) Construction Manager/General Contractors (CM/GC) firms to
participate in the Fee Proposals and General Condition competition for the
construction of two new Elementary Schools and/or an Addition to Doherty High
School. Please keep an eye on the District web page for future solicitations.
Contractors that have never pre-qualified with the District who desire to
pre-qualify for the many remaining projects may download the application from
the web site. All applicants must apply not less than fourteen (14) days prior
to the date of posting of any solicitation in order to be eligible for that

Farm Labor Housing
The Pueblo Housing Authority is taking applications for year-round housing
assistance for low income farm worker families. All of the units consist of
three bedrooms with one and a half baths. To be considered for the program an
applicant must meet the following requirements:
1. Be low-income wage earner.
2. Earn a minimum of $3,185 from related work, or
3. Have worked on a farm at least 110 days in the past 12 months, and
4. Be a U.S. citizen or legal alien. Applications are being taken on Monday
through Friday, except Holidays, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
