Workforce Center Celebrates Veterans
In honor of Veterans Day, November 11, 2008, the Pikes Peak Workforce Center
will host two events to celebrate our area’s Veterans and their contributions to
our country.
On Wednesday, November 12, 2008 the Pikes Peak Workforce Center will host a
group celebration of its Veteran staff and Veteran job seekers from 8:30 a.m. to
10:30 a.m. at its main office at 2306 E. Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO
80909.
At this celebration, veterans from all branches of the military will be
recognized for their service. The guest speaker will be CSM (Ret.) Terrance D.
McWilliams, Director of Military Support, El Pomar Foundation.
On Thursday, November 13, the Pikes Peak Workforce Center will hold its Third
Annual Career Fair of the Rockies at The Retired Enlisted Association, 834 Emory
Circle in Colorado Springs, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The focus of this fair
is recently separated veterans, transitioning veterans seeking civilian
employment, and veterans in general but it is open to the public. Employers
expected to attend include: Colorado State Patrol, Dish Network, Ensign, Wyoming
Contractors Association, Computer Sciences Corporation, Progressive Insurance,
Federal Bureau of Prisons, City of Pueblo, Colorado Department of
Transportation, ASC Global Technologies, USAA, City of Colorado Springs Fire and
Police Departments, ISYS Technologies, Swift Transportation, Allied Mortgage,
Denver Department of Safety, Ciber Inc., and U.S. Border Patrol.
