ZONTA Club Of The Pikes Peak Area Sets Date For 2008 Glass Slipper Ball

Fundraiser for Local and Global Women’s Initiatives

Zonta Club of the Pikes Peak Area announced today that their second annual Glass Slipper Ball, featuring the Best of the Pikes Peak Chefs, is scheduled for Saturday, March 1st at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The domestic violence agency T.E.S.S.A. is slated to be one of the local recipients of the funds, in addition to Zonta International, whose mission and work projects strive to advance the status of women worldwide.

The unique 2008 event is expected to attract over 400 people. The highlight of the evening will be over 20 of the area’s top chefs, who will showcase their talents with signature hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Such fabulous restaurants and caterers as Amuze Bistro, Bayou BBQ, Bella Panini, Craftwood Inn, Front Range Epicurean, The Hilton, Jun Japanese Restaurant, Margarita at Pine Creek, Otho, Serrano’s, Walter’s Bistro, Plate World Cuisine, Whole Foods, Alpine Chef, The Blue Star, Mozaic Restaurant at the Inn, Amuse’ Gourmet, Jake and Telly’s, Nosh , Colorado Steak Company, Blue Sage and The Crowne Plaza Hotel are all on board ! From salmon to elk these chefs outdo themselves!

The Peoples Choice awards will honor the favorites. Last year Whole Foods Pastry team led by Pierre Osborne took home the Best Dessert Award. Bill Sherman from Amuze bistro won with his vanilla infused tomato bisque. Along with all the taste treats, those who attend will dance the night away with one of the areas top bands “Gentle Rain” and enjoy exhibition dancing from Springs Salsa and Fitnass.

Local television celebrtity Susan Davies of KOAA will be the emcee. A silent auction will complete the night with hard- to-find sports memorabilia, dazzling jewelry, gorgeous gift baskets, art work, travel packages, and much more.
