Pack's Gomez Gets Nod As RMAC Pitcher Of The Week
 The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference has announced that CSU-Pueblo junior
pitcher Juan Gomez has been named the RMAC Pitcher of the Week.
Gomez, in only his first game in a ThunderWolves uniform, gave up only five
hits in eight innings of work against Cal. St-San Bernardino in the Pack's
season-opener, leading the ThunderWolves to a 7-2 victory. The win snapped
CSUSB's 5-0 start to the season and helped the Pack to get off on a 3-1 start to
the 2008 season.
Gomez' honor marks the first time since May 1, 2007 that a ThunderWolves
player has been the recipient of the RMAC pitching honor (Nick Whitworth
received the award on May 1). During the 2007 season, Pack players have earned a
player of the week honor on five occasions, including the final three weeks of
the 2007 season.
