Youth Workshops
December and January Workshops Help Youth Prepare for Their Future
The Youth Work Zone at the Pikes Peak Workforce Center today announces the
following workshops for young people.
Workshops are open to all youth between the ages of 14 and 21. There is no
charge to attend, but registration is required. To register, go to ppwfc.org and
click on the Youth Zone icon or call 667-3825 or 667-3790.
Money & Time Management: Taking Control of Your Future,
Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Learn how to budget your money and how to apply for and use credit responsibly.
Understand how to become a financially stable young adult! Time is money too.
You will complete an activity to help you discover the actual value of your
time. Join this fun and entertaining workshops and learn how to financially
start off on the right foot!
Making the Bright Choice: Choosing the Career that’s Right for You,
Wednesday, January 16, 2008 from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
“What are you going to be when you grow up?” During this session you will
discuss ways to get to know yourself, identify your goals, and learn how to plot
the steps to reach your goals. You also will also complete a personality
assessment and receive a personal notes page that allows you to take notes that
can be referred to later.
Career Preparation: Building Your Professional Self,
Wednesday, January 30, 2008 from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Begin your career sooner instead of later! Understand the benefits of any job
and the experience that is gained through a job. This workshop focuses on the
importance of writing a resume. You will receive a resume and cover letter
worksheet and you will complete a personality assessment to better understand
how you fit with certain jobs and careers.
The Youth Work Zone supports education and promotes employment for youth in El
Paso and Teller counties by providing youth opportunities. More information
