Chicanos Wake Up
Yes,
it’s been awhile since you saw that word in print. I think we just had a wake up
call. I know that too many of you will think the following scenario is like an
old bad movie, you have already experience. Chicanos were told get an education,
yes, after you can serve in the military, but don’t forget your education.
Normally, being a Harvard educated lawyer is pretty decent credentials. Most of
us have close relatives that are judges, school principal etc, but for to many
it is just not enough. Look at the former Attorney General; his qualifications
or education had nothing to do with his service. And then we get thrown in to
this immigration thing. If you have Hispanic surname, then you must condone
illegal immigration. Wrong, if you just examine locally the immigrants (not
native born Coloradoans) who come here, who has corrupted this state the most?
You can answer that question yourself.
Chicanos, yes I know, most so called liberal Spanish surnamed are extremely
conservative and don’t like that term Chicano. Too many Chicanos have done well
and those that have done well should be congratulated, because most of us know
it as not easy. Now we must do more. We must get involved with our community,
our country, and we have witnessed the tri-folded flag presented at military
funerals too often to let this pass. Many will use this opportunity to say
Alberto Gonzalez, even with the education, did not succeed. Wrong, we owe to our
forefathers to continue to maintain surveillance over our ambience; we need it
for our children. There are too many talented Chicanos that are waiting to be
invited to the Tea party; we must volunteer to attend the party and offer any
assistance needed.
