Colorado Springs School District 11 Invites Nominations For School Board
Directors
The School District 11 Board of Education is accepting nominations of
candidates for school board directors for the regular biennial school board
election to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007.
At this election, four school board directors will be elected for a term of
four years. To be qualified, a candidate must have been a registered voter of
the school district for at least 12 consecutive months before the election. A
person is ineligible to run for school board director if he or she has been
convicted of committing a sexual offense against a child.
A person who wants to be a candidate must file a written notice of intention
and a nomination petition in accordance with law.
Nomination petitions may be obtained from the Board of Education Office,
Colorado Springs School District 11, 1115 North El Paso Street, Colorado
Springs, Colorado 80903, telephone 520-2004, fax 577-4546. Office hours are 8
a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Completed petitions must contain at least 50 valid signatures
and should be submitted to Board of Education Assistant Secretary Julie Stevens
no later than 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 31, 2007.
