Southern Colorado Educational Opportunity Center
“Your First Step Toward Higher Education”
The Southern Colorado Educational Opportunity Center (SCEOC) helps over 1,800
Southern Colorado residents each year to take their first step toward a college
education. Program staff members make college less intimidating by providing:
information about college, help choosing a college and major, assistance
completing college admissions and financial aid forms, college application fee
waivers, scholarship searches and assistance with student loan default
rehabilitation. Services are provided free under a federally-funded TRiO Grant
sponsored by Colorado State University-Pueblo.
To be eligible, residents of the thirteen Southern Colorado and New Mexico
counties serviced by SCEOC must be: U.S. citizens or permanent residents, 19
years or older or a veteran and plan to attend college. Priority is given to
low-income individuals and first-generation college students (neither parent has
a bachelor’s degree).
SCEOC has office in Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Trinidad, La Junta and Lamar. For
more information about services, call 1-877-302-4433, or email sceoc@colostate-pueblo.edu,
