2nd Annual Qwest Niños Seguros Back to School & Safety Fair

The Back to School & Safety Fair presented by Qwest Communications is a free one-day family festival focusing on child safety, health and education. Attendees participate in a variety of entertaining activities and view demonstrations by local health, safety and educational agencies. The highlight of the event is the “Backpack Giveaway.” 6,500 co-branded backpacks donated by Qwest Communications, Univision Television and Arvizu Advertising are distributed to children.

“As a company and as individuals, Qwest’s educational and technological initiatives work to bolster student success, increase community involvement and encourage financial investment,” said Ric Padilla, vice president of corporate social responsibility for Qwest. “Qwest is proud to be a sponsor of Niños Seguros Back to School Safety Fair as yet another way to strengthen pre-K through grade 12 education. Qwest believes an educated community is an involved community.”

Education is key to developing productive, prosperous communities. That’s why Qwest supports pre-K through 12th grade students and teachers through reading and technology initiatives like Reach Out and Read and Teachers & Technology grants.

The Qwest Foundation has also partnered with community organizations, such as Boys and Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Goodwill Industries.

The Back to School event will take place Saturday, August 11 from 12:00-5:00 pm at The Denver Merchandise Mart located 451 E. 58th Avenue,
