Head Start Preschool Enrolling For Fall

Convenient enrollment clinics offer simplicity for children and parents
Community Partnership for Child Development (CPCD) is committed to preparing young children in El Paso County for success in school and life. Through a variety of FREE early childhood development programs, including the national Head Start and Early Head Start programs, CPCD provides comprehensive educational, physical and mental health, nutritional, and social services for children, birth to age five, whose families live below the federal poverty guidelines and those children with special needs.

We will host enrollment events throughout in neighborhoods throughout El Paso County. For a listing of these events, please call us at (719) 635-1536. Or stop by Community Partnership for Child Development, 2330 Robinson Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 from 1:00 – 4:00 on the following dates:

- August 7, 2007
- October 2, 2007
- December 4, 2007
- February 5, 2008
- April 8, 2008
- June 10, 2008
- July 8, 2008

Families with children under the age of five are encouraged to attend. Program availability is limited, so parents should not delay.

Many children who enroll in CPCD programs do not have medical and/or dental insurance. Therefore, every child who enrolls in CPCD programs will receive a free medical, dental, hearing and vision screening from a medical professional, as well as an iron level test and height and weight measurements. After all, a healthy child is more likely to be ready to learn. If a child requires further treatment, CPCD will assist families in paying for any necessary treatment because if problems are identified early, the need for further, more costly procedures might be reduced or eliminated.

Families who live within El Paso County and have a child under the age of five may be eligible for enrollment. Families must qualify to enroll; however, income is not a limiting factor for all programs. Children with special needs are welcome.

In addition to free preschool and infant/toddler programs, CPCD offers affordable year-round child care combined with Head Start preschool or Early Head Start infant/toddler program.

To complete all enrollment requirements, parents should bring the following:
- the child they are enrolling
- proof of income
- child’s immunization records
- child’s birth certificate
