Thus, Adams State offers quality, accessible, and affordable educational programs to meet the needs of rural, underserved, and minority populations. Adams State’s undergraduate student body is more than 37 percent minority; of those nearly 29 percent identify as Hispanic. Colorado's premier public small college, Adams State is located in the San Luis Valley of south-central Colorado, surrounded by stunning mountains in Alamosa. Small class size, a diverse student population, high quality faculty, and access across disciplines provide hands-on learning. Students discover their strengths in a supportive, friendly environment. Adams State is proud to offer one of the lowest tuition rates among four-year colleges in Colorado. Adams State has one full-time teaching professor for every 18 students, and academic advising is provided by full-time professors. Recent additions to the curriculum include undergraduate programs in agri-business, nursing, sports psychology, and creative writing, as well as master’s programs in Human Performance and Physical Education – coaching emphasis, and in Humanities – history emphasis.
