Three Corporate Executives Elected to USHCC Foundation Board of Directors
The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Foundation is pleased
to announce that three corporate executives have been elected to serve on the
USHCC Foundation Board of Directors.
USHCC Foundation Board of Directors members elected corporate executives from
Ford Motor Company Fund, FedEx and The Coca-Cola Company to sit on the USHCC
Foundation Board of Directors. Raquel “Rocky” Egusquiza, Juan N. Cento and Rudy
M. Beserra took their respective positions at the January 26, 2007 USHCC
Foundation Board of Directors meeting. “Our three new corporate Director members
bring exceptional knowledge and wisdom that will be most beneficial to the
educational and charitable mission of the USHCC Foundation Board of Directors
and I look forward to working closely with each of them in this new role”, said
USHCC Foundation President and CEO Frank Lopez.
“As executives representing fortune 500 companies these three individuals bring
incredible insight from the corporate business community to the table”, said
USHCC Foundation Chairman Massey Villarreal. “On behalf of the Board of
Directors of the USHCC Foundation I welcome Rocky, Juan and Rudy as our newest
Director members and I know they will serve with distinction and honor and
tremendously help us achieve as well as extend our message of entrepreneurship
opportunity and economic growth of benefit to our exploding number of Hispanic
entrepreneurs and Latino youth throughout our nation.”
Raquel “Rocky” Egusquiza is the Director of Community Development and
International Strategy for Ford Motor Company Fund. In this capacity, she is
responsible for the development of the Fund’s international strategies and also
oversees national programs, American heritage and arts and humanities projects.
In her current position, Egusquiza also develops, evaluates, and recommends
funding to local, regional, and national not-for-profit organizations. In
addition, she oversees Ford Motor Company’s Community Relations Committees and
external corporate initiatives focused on the American Indian, Hispanic and
Women focused communities. Prior to joining Ford, Egusquiza managed AT&T’s
legislative affairs in Florida where she was responsible for developing AT&T’s
strategic government relations program.
Juan N. Cento is President of the FedEx Express Latin America & Caribbean
Division, headquartered in Miami, Florida. He maintains overall responsibility
for the Division, which includes more than 3,300 employees in more than 50
countries and territories. Cento’s primary focus is on magnifying the FedEx
Express presence throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, and integrating the
region into the FedEx global network serving more than 220 countries and
territories worldwide.
Rudy M. Beserra is vice president of Latin Affairs for The Coca Cola Company. He
began his career at The Coca Cola Company in 1989 after having served as special
assistant to President Ronald Reagan on Latino and Small Business Affairs. A
graduate of the University of New Mexico, Mr. Beserra has held a number of
distinguished positions including special assistant to the Chairman of the
National Republican Committee in charge of Hispanic and Small Business Affairs.
In addition, Mr. Beserra is also an active board member of a number of prominent
Latino-focused organizations.
