Muralist Leo Tanguma featured at ArtsTalk
Join artist Leo Tanguma on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 9:30 a.m. at the Sangre de
Cristo Arts Center for a discussion about his sculptural mural, "Encuentro
(Encounter)."
Tanguma has turned the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center’s Hoag Gallery into a
working art studio. During this ArtsTalk held in the Hoag Gallery, learn about
the many meanings, historical figures and folklore incorporated into the large
work of art. "Encuentro" is a community sculptural mural celebrating Hispanic
culture in the U.S. Tanguma’s work is part of the “ˇAy Mexico! Spring 2007
Exhibitions" at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center. Once completed, the sculptural
mural will travel to various locations in our community and will serve to
enhance the beauty and culture of our community for years to come.
