U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Selects Denver as Site for 29th Annual
National Convention and Business Expo
'Mile High City' chosen to host largest and most
influential gathering of Hispanic entrepreneurs and business owners in the
country in September 2009
The Board of Directors of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC),
the leading advocate for the more than two million Hispanic-owned businesses in
the United States, is pleased to announce the selection of the city of Denver as
the site for its 29th Annual National Convention and Business Expo. This annual
gathering of Hispanic business owners and entrepreneurs, the largest and most
influential of its kind in the country, will be held in the "Mile High City" in
September 2009.
"On behalf of our Board of Directors and our 200 local chambers nationwide, we
congratulate Denver and are honored to be partnering with our Colorado Chambers
of Commerce for what will be one of the most successful National Conventions on
record," said David C. Lizárraga, Chairman, USHCC Board of Directors. "The USHCC
represents Hispanic businesses, the fastest growing segment of the U.S. economy,
and Denver represents the growth and impact of a booming business community."
The USHCC is most appreciative of the valuable efforts of distinguished Board
member Jerry Natividad, whose leadership, guidance and commitment to the
Hispanic and Colorado business communities helped bring the 29th Annual National
Convention to Denver.
"Denver is a dynamic and diverse city with unprecedented Hispanic
entrepreneurship and growth," said USHCC President & CEO Michael L. Barrera.
"Denver creates an atmosphere of business opportunity and expansion, and those
are the same goals the USHCC holds for the more than 200 local chambers we
represent across the United States, Mexico, Canada and Puerto Rico."
The "Mile High City" will join numerous successful past national conventions in
incredibly dynamic cities as Austin, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Chicago and others.
Last year in Philadelphia, more than 4,000 participants and close to 200
exhibitors from all over the United States, Mexico, the Dominican Republic,
Panama, Venezuela and Latin America participated in this national premier event,
making it the largest gathering of Hispanic businesses and entrepreneurs in the
country.
This year, the USHCC will travel to Puerto Rico for its 2007 International
Convention and Business Expo, September 19-22, 2007. Puerto Rico is increasingly
becoming a more influential player within corporate America and Hispanic
businesses all over the Western Hemisphere. This year's Convention is themed
"Bridging the Americas," and will provide business opportunities for small and
large businesses to network and expand their potential to new and growing
markets.
The USHCC actively promotes the economic growth and development of Hispanic
entrepreneurs and represents the interests of more than two million
Hispanic-owned businesses in the United States, which earn more than $350
billion annually. It also serves as the umbrella organization for 200 local
Hispanic chambers in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
