Arts Center to offer three-part Mexican film series

Join local film afficionado Margaret Senatore for a thought provoking and fascinating afternoon watching and discussing a Mexican classic film at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center. Held on different dates, the films are set during the Mexican Revolution.

The series begins with "El Compadre Mendoza" on Monday, Jan. 29. This drama outlines the affect of the revolution on the privileged class. "El Compadre Mendoza" was made in 1933 and is subtitled in English. All films in the series link to the Arts Center’s spring exhibitions "¡Ay Mexico!"

Other films in the series include "Let’s Go With Pancho Villa" on Monday, Feb. 5 and "Prisoner" Monday, March 5. After watching each film, Senator will facilitate a lively discussion which links to the exhibitions the Helen T. White Galleries. All films will be screened in the Buell Children’s Museum Magic Carpet Theater at 2 p.m. Individual, adult tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Arts Center Box Office at 210 N. Santa Fe Ave. Pueblo, Colorado; or by calling 719-295-7222.
