The Front Page
A look at the future. It serves as acknowledgement that Hispanics are a real
integral part of this country and the people that are making decisions to run
this country.
With as much pride, that we feel as we look at this front page of this paper, we
cannot forget there is much more to be done.
There are too many Hispanics that are not graduating from High School and
arguably many are the factors influencing such a fact. How can they become
scholarly enough to graduate from college? We think it is imperative to
introduce them early in life to be prepared to take advantage of the many
opportunities that are out there to obtain a college degree. Without that, it is
very difficult to become a leader in this country.
At a very young age, we need to introduce students to engineering, science,
math, sports, and the arts. Participation in aforementioned disciplines will
prepare them for higher education. We need to make early education more relevant
if they are to be more effective participants in society.
There are simple things we as a group must learn to engage and lead, we need to
volunteer, simple thing, support one another.
Remember assimilation is not denial.
