Own Your Own art show & sale
Still searching for the perfect holiday gift? The Sangre de Cristo Arts
Center recently received several new items for sale in its 39th Annual Own Your
Own Holiday Art Show & Sale running through Dec 30.
Discover a new selection of fun, hand-painted shadow boxes with a variety of
themes for all ages by Scott Lyon. Own Your Own always offers unique, beautiful
jewelry. Adding to this year's offerings are new necklaces and earrings from
Fabiola Allen as well as other unique and artistic jewelry from Nancy Blair. For
a classic art piece everyone should own, select from three new paintings by John
Mendoza. Looking for a more light-hearted gift? Browse the new pottery from
Merry Cox inscribed with a variety of whimsical comments. Additionally, artists
Rhonda Traber and Marianne Cardinal have sent more of their unique gourd art
including ornaments, spoon rests, decorative pieces and containers that are
colorful adorned with hand-weaving. A new selection of wooden boxes and bowls
from artist Marvin Collins are also on display.
It’s an “off-the-wall” event because whatever gallery-quality pieces you like
and buy, you take with you. The exhibition, sponsored by Wells Fargo, is open 11
am - 4 pm, Tue - Sat. Admission to the Arts Center is $4 for adults and $3 for
children. Members of the Arts Center receive free admission. For more
