Coors Amphitheatre to “Light Up” the Holiday Season

Coors Amphitheatre’s inaugural public, winter lights installation opens Dec 3 when the Museum of Outdoor Arts premiers ICE+SNOW, an outdoor holiday lighting extravaganza featuring Art, Light, Music & Magic. The light display will illuminate and transform the environment of over twenty acres in and around Coors Amphitheatre, Samson Park, and Greenwood Village.

International Artist, Inventor and Showman, Lonnie Hanzon and Hanzon Studios were commissioned to create this unique holiday spectacle, enjoyable for all ages. Lonnie’s background includes working on the Denver Parade of Lights, designing the annual holiday lights and national window displays for Neiman Marcus, holiday display design for the Bellagio Hotel, and co-designing the largest Christmas display in Hong Kong (“Little Shanghai”).

Without a doubt this multi-faceted installation will be a truly revolutionary aesthetic experience. The tallest display will reach a height of 100 feet and the longest, an “Alice in Wonderland” walking tour, will extend more than 200 yards.

Some of the displays are animated, and others are stationary. Four incredible attractions, “Castle on the Hill,” “Tea Party,” “Frost King,” and “Angel Bench” are certain to dazzle visitors. Included in the festivities is an Old World Holiday Village where visitors can go to warm up, savor a hot beverage, find holiday goodies, and enjoy some old world holiday cheer.

ICE+SNOW holiday lighting exhibition is FREE and open to the public, and will run seven days a week, Dec 3 – 31. Hours will be Mon – Sun, 4 – 10 pm.

Restrooms, warming areas, and concessions will be available during the exhibition. Coors Amphitheatre is located off of I-25 and Arapahoe Road and is easily accessible by light rail. The new RTD light rail Arapahoe Station is located directly behind the Amphitheatre.
