Help Celebrate Bear Creek Nature Center's 30th Anniversary

Candlelight Open House Celebration Dec. 15 2006

Bundle up and bring family and friends, on Friday, Dec. 15, from 6 - 9 p.m., for the free Bear Creek by Candlelight Open House Celebration at Bear Creek Nature Center, 245 Bear Creek Road.

This magical evening walk on candle-lit luminaria trails along Bear Creek will be followed by an opportunity to warm up indoors while enjoying classical and contemporary guitar music, interactive seasonal activities, good company, holiday treats, hot cider, cocoa, and more.

While at the nature center, meet staff and naturalist docent volunteers. Find out why Bear Creek and Fountain Creek Nature Centers have been regarded as the best in the Pikes Peak region for providing outstanding interpretive, educational, and outdoor recreation programming, as well as wonderful educational exhibits and nature trails for all generations of outdoor enthusiasts for more than 30 years.

The event, hosted by Bear Creek and Fountain Creek Nature Centers, is being held to help kick off the first annual Nature Center Membership Drive with a new open-house holiday tradition. This will also be a great time to celebrate the coming winter season.

Casual park attire is recommended… no need to dress up. No reservations necessary, but for more information, call 520-6387.

Directions: From the intersection of I-25 and Highway 24, go west on Highway 24 to 26th Street, proceed south on 26th Street to Bear Creek Road.
