Paul Rodriguez to star in Holidaze

Holidaze: The Christmas that Almost Didn’t Happen will premiere in this upcoming holiday season with a DVD launch scheduled through Wal-mart in mid-November. The franchise features a newly created set of iconic holiday characters captured in stop-motion animation (“claymation”).

In the first installment, consumers will be introduced to Rusty Reindeer (Fred Savage), an antlered North Pole native whose lackluster nose sends him on a journey to the big city to find his role in Christmas. He eventually discovers his role, but in the most unexpected of places—a church basement housing an anonymous support group for Holiday Icons. All of our most beloved holiday personalities are in support group attendance including: Mr. C (Paul Rodriguez), the grouchy Cupid; Candie (Gladys Knight) the charming Southern Easter Bunny; Kid (Dylan and Cole Sprouse), the skeptic who doesn’t believe in Santa; and Trick (Emily Osment, “Hannah Montana”) and Treat (Brenda Song, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody ), the moody teenage Halloween Ghosts. Holidaze also features well-known talent such as Harland Williams as Albert the Thanksgiving Day Turkey; Edie McClurg as Mrs. Claus; Fred Willard as Santa Claus; and John O’Hurley as Kringle.

The franchise was created by writer/producer Jonathan Prince (American Dreams ). It is produced and financed by Madison Road Entertainment, whose managing partner, Jak Severson, also produces with Kelli Bixler of Bix Pix Entertainment, Inc. Holidaze: The Christmas that Almost Didn’t Happen is written by writer/producer Peter Murietta (Greetings From Tucson ).

Holidaze: The Christmas that Almost Didn’t Happen will be available on DVD at Wal-Mart and www.holidazedvd.com beginning Nov 21, 2006. The second Holidaze installment, which focuses on Albert the Thanksgiving Day Turkey, will be released in time for Thanksgiving, 2007.
