PPCC PRESIDENTIAL SEMI-FINALISTS TO VISIT CAMPUS NOVEMBER 6-8, 2006
The six semi-finalists for the presidency of Pikes Peak Community College (PPCC)
will visit the school’s three campuses for interviews, meetings and public
forums, November 6 through 8.
The six finalists include:
- Rodger A. Bates, Ph.D., Special Assistant to the Vice Provost for Outreach –
New Mexico State University
- Drew A. Bennett, Ph.D., Commandant of the Marine Corps Chair, National War
College, Ft. McNair Washington, D.C.
- Sharon Y. Hart, Ph.D., Interim Executive Director, Community Colleges of North
Dakota, Bismark, ND
- Jim P. Henderson, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor for Student and Enrollment
Management, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs
- Anthony (Tony) G. Kinkel, Ph.D., Chancellor, University of Arkansas Community
College at Batesville
- Jeffrey M. Wells, Executive Director, Colorado Department of Personnel and
Administration.
All community members, PPCC staff and students are invited to attend the public
forums. The forums will provide the candidates an opportunity to introduce
themselves to the attendees and to talk about themselves and their backgrounds
as it relates to this position. It will also provide an opportunity for the
attendees to ask questions of the candidates.
The PUBLIC FORUMS at the CENTENNIAL CAMPUS will be in the Atrium at the
following times:
Monday, November 6:
3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Dr. Henderson
4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Dr. Bennett
5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - Dr. Hart
Tuesday, November 7:
1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. - Mr. Wells
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Dr. Bates
3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Dr. Kinkel
The PUBLIC FORUMS at the RAMPART RANGE CAMPUS will take place in the library,
Room N-201, at the following times:
Tuesday, November 7:
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. - Dr. Henderson
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Dr. Bennett
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. - Dr. Hart
3:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. - Mr. Wells
4:00 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. - Dr. Bates
Wednesday, November 8:
9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. - Dr. Kinkel
A PUBLIC RECEPTION will be held Monday, November 6 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the
Downtown Studio Campus, 100 West Pikes Peak Avenue. All interested community
members and Pikes Peak Community College staff and students are invited to
attend. This will be an excellent opportunity to meet each of the candidates and
visit with them on an informal basis. Refreshments will be provided.
The Colorado Community College System comprises the state's largest system of
higher education serving more than 116,000 students annually. CCCS oversees
career and academic programs in the 13 state community colleges and career and
technical programs in more than 160 school districts and seven other
post-secondary institutions.
