Otero Junior College

Founded in 1941, Otero Junior College is located on an attractive 40-acre campus on the southern edge of La Junta, Colorado. Within two years, students at OJC can earn degrees in Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science or Associate of General Studies. Agreements with all Colorado public 4-year colleges and universities enable a smooth academic transfer for students to apply their credits toward a 4-year degree.

Students who wish to pursue vocational occupations will find one- and two-year certificate programs available that will have them on the job upon completion. Certificate programs available at OJC include: Accounting Clerk; Administrative Assistant; Agri-Business Management; Automotive Technology; Business Management, Small Business Management, Bank Training, Computer Systems Technologies; Cosmetology; Early Childhood Education; Emergency Medical Services; Law Enforcement; Nursing, Massage Therapy, and Real Estate.

Over 97 percent of Otero Junior College students are employed upon graduation or go on to continue their education at 4-year colleges or universities. OJC students rank at the top academically for all Colorado community college students after they graduate and transfer to 4-year colleges or universities.

Supported by state tax dollars, tuition at OJC is affordable. Many students attending OJC qualify for financial assistance in the form of scholarships, grants, student loans and on-campus work-study jobs.
