Pueblo Air Show Announces 2006 Performers

This year’s Pueblo Air Show will have some fantastic performers. Pilots are coming from as far away as Atlanta, Georgia to this year’s event. Top aerobatic pilots, WWII aircraft, active military aircraft, plenty of children’s and family activity and plenty of food will make the Pueblo Air Show a great new addition to Pueblo’s summer activities. The Pueblo Air Show will be held at the Pueblo Memorial Airport on Saturday and Sunday August 12th & 13th.

The highlight of any air show is the Jet Act. The United States Air Force is bringing in the A-10 Thunderbolt Demonstration Team. The A-10, commonly called the “Warthog” has distinguished itself in combat as the premier anti tank weapon in the American arsenal. This very maneuverable aircraft will be showing off just what it is capable of. The A-10 team will be the finale’ in each days’ show at the Pueblo Memorial Airport.

Civilian aerobatics acts will include Tim Weber in the GEICO Extra 300, Bob Carlton and the “Salto” Glider, Gary Rower flying his “Super Stearman” biplane, Matt Younkin and the 1929 “Mystery Ship” and Don Nelson with his Russian “Sukoi.” All of these pilots are experienced air show performers and fly air in shows around the world.

If you come to the show you can expect:

- Plenty of great Air Show food vendors
- A “Kids Zone” with jumpers and rides
- Close in Parking
- A free Shuttle to the Pueblo Air Museum and reduced admission to the Museum.
- Static displays of active duty military aircraft including. C-130, C-21, F-16, HU-1 (HUEY) and HU-60 (Blackhawk) Helicopters,
- WWII aircraft including the Stearman, T-6 [four of them,] -C-45s [two of them] and the infamous P-51 MUSTANG!
- Military rein-actors from the American Civil War, WWII and Korean War, through today’s modern soldier.
- The Fort Carson Military Police and working K-9 team.

There is plenty to do on the ground for the whole family and plenty to watch in the sky. There will be a shuttle from the Air Show site to the Pueblo Air Museum…so you can see the WWII B-29 and the C-47. Gates open each day at 9 am and the Aerobatics start at 11 am.

The Air Show Team wants to remind you to bring your cameras, lawn chairs, sun block, hats and umbrellas, (for the sun not for the rain.) Please leave the puppy at home and the cooler in the car.

Tickets for the Air Show are available at the Air Show Gate at the Pueblo Memorial Airport or in advance at Tickets West locations at Pueblo area King Soopers Stores or online through the Air Show website: www.puebloairshow.com.
