Who will replace Rep. Joel Hefley?
Lets make it simple, on August 9th you will know which Republican of 6
running, will be running against Jay Fawcett, the Democratic candidate.
The National Federation of Independent Business hosted a forum where all who
are seeking the 5th District seat. All candidates were present except for John
Anderson who was in DC on business. They all called for tougher immigration laws
and border enforcement, without giving amnesty to anyone. On the question of
minimum wage, Jay Fawcett (D) was the only one in favor of it, he said it was
needed and noted that Congress had given themselves raises recently. Doug
Lamborn (R) gave an interesting mention on minimum wage, “it is not needed, it
is for teenagers and minority, immigrants.” I guess I wasn’t as shocked as some
in the audience, after all this is the same Doug Lamborn that in Denver, during
the special session, in the State Affairs Committee, in reference to the bill
(which died) SJMO6S-001 to deny Citizenship to Illegal Alien Babies, Lamborn
stated, “This is one of the “most important things we do this special session.”
Stay tuned, this election season may be most colorful.
