Colorado Springs Will Host The 24th USA Roller Sports Outdoor Banked Track And Road Speed Skating National Championships, May 26-31

USA Roller Sports will stage its 24th Annual Outdoor Banked Track and Road Speed Skating National Championships May 26 through May 31 in Colorado Springs. This championship will showcase some of the most vibrant and dynamic inline speed skaters in the country, with athletes participating in the freshman, junior, world class and masters divisions. Spectator admission is free.

The first part of the competition will be the banked track events, which will kick off on Friday, May 26 and will finish up on Sunday, May 28 at the 7-Eleven Velodrome, just five blocks south of the Olympic Training Center in Memorial Park. The opening ceremonies will commence on May 26, and the track competition will immediately follow. The rain date for the track competition will be Monday, May 29.

The road competition will take place at the World Arena, which is located at 3185 Venetucci Blvd in Colorado Springs. The road championships will start on Tuesday, May 30 and will finish up the next day on Wednesday, May 31. The rain date will be Thursday, June 1.

The USA Roller Sports Outdoor Banked Track and Road Championships will feature some of the nations finest in inline speed skating. The best athletes from all corners of the United States will vie for a spot on the US Inline Speed Skating World Team, which will compete at the 2006 Federation Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS) World Speed Skating Championships in Anyang City, South Korea from September 2 though September 9. The junior and senior world teams will have 16 representatives in each class, for a total of 32 American athletes that will represent Team USA at the world championships in Anyang City, South Korea.
