2006 Colorado State Fair brings honky tonk and heaven to the stage

Colorado State Fair & Rodeo has added Trace Adkins and Los Lonely Boys to the entertainment line-up. Tickets are now on sale.

"We're excited to add Los Lonely Boys and Trace Adkins to this year's lineup," said Colorado State Fair general manger, Chris Wiseman. "Both have had huge hits and lend themselves to the variety of music genres concert-goers will have to choose from this year."

Trace Adkins will follow the PRCA Rodeo at 10 pm on Mon, Aug 29, 2006. Tickets can be purchased for $20. Los Lonely Boys will perform on Sat, Sep 2, 2006 in the Events Center. Ticket prices are $36 and $26.

Beginning Saturday, tickets for these concerts can be purchased in person at the State Fair box office, online at http://www.ticketmaster.com/ or charge by phone at (719) 520-9090 or (303) 830-TIXS. Tickets purchased up until the day of the show include gate admission.

It is one of the most powerful and distinctive voices in country music history, and fittingly enough it belongs to one of the genre's true rugged individualists. Trace Adkins' booming baritone and unshakable sense of self have made him a star, but it is the indelible stamp of authenticity he brings to his life and music that have made his body of work so important to so many people.

One of the industry's highest energy shows, Adkins' working class anthems are thrilling packed houses across the country. Both his Comin' On Strong CD and Trace Adkins Video Hits have recently been certified platinum, and his Greatest Hits Collection, Volume I, which entered the charts at #1, is on the verge. His CD Chrome has gone gold. Breakthrough hits like "Every Light In the House is On" and "This Ain't No Thinkin' Thing" through the powerful "I'm Tryin'," the sexually charged "Hot Mama" and the raucous "Rough & Ready," are a slice of pure attitude captured for posterity.

Deemed one of the most exciting new bands to emerge in the new millennium, Los Lonely Boys is making their mark, most notably with their hit song, "How Far is Heaven." Composed of three brothers, Henry Garza on guitar, Jojo Garza on bass, and Ringo Garza on drums, Los Lonely Boys write, sing and play music drawn from diverse sources, blending their influences into a seamless style. Weaned on Tex-Mex, country, blues, and rock pioneers like Richie Valens, Chuck Berry and Fats Domino, and such pop music giants as the Beatles, Los Lonely Boys augment those solid basics with red-hot guitar playing, percolating rock and Latin rhythms, and dynamic interplay and luscious vocal harmonies - all three brothers also sing - to produce songs rife with engaging hooks, expressive lyrics, and melodic sumptuousness.
