Regional Mining History revealed at Arts Center display
The Sangre de Cristo Arts Center offers the community a piece of regional
history in its new spring exhibit, The Machine Age. As part of the exhibit, the
King Gallery offers a glimpse into the strikes through “Strike History of
Southern Colorado.” Photos and records are on display on the second floor Tue -
Sat from 11 am until 4 pm. “Strike History of Southern Colorado” details the
horrors of the Ludlow Massacre, an assault on the strike of 1914. This
informative display was organized by the Pueblo City-County Library District.
In addition to viewing the display, the public is invited to attend a free
ArtsTalk with guest speaker Dr. Edmond Vallejo. Vallejo will present
“Reflections of the Colorado Coal Strike” on Tue, Feb 21 at 9:45 am. For more
