Celebration Place February events
Don’t miss these exciting events at Imagination Celebration’s creativity
space-Celebration Place - located on the upper level of The Citadel, across from
Steve & Barry’s. Celebration Place‘ s February focus will be based on
Imagination Celebration’s year-long theme of Creative Explorations. The
following events will be scheduled:
High School Portfolio Review
Sat, Feb 4 beginning at 11:30 am
Imagination Celebration and School District # 11 will be holding a Portfolio
Review for high school visual artists, on Sat, Feb 4, starting at 11:30 am, at
Celebration Place (upper level, across from Steve & Barry’s) at The Citadel.
Students, don’t miss this very special opportunity to have your art portfolios
reviewed by a professional artist, educator, arts administrator and former
gallery owner, Rodney Wood. Each artist will be scheduled for a 15 - 20 minute
private review. This unique opportunity offers young artists a way to gain
information and insight into what is often a mysterious and intimidating
process. The fee is only $5 and includes printed information, along with a
one-on-one session with Mr. Wood. Space is very limited. Please call the

A Valentine’s Day hands-on art workshop

Join Imagination Celebration for a fun hands-on art activity celebrating
Valentine’s Day early. Admission is $1 per person. Reservations are required.

Black Diamonds II
Sat, Feb 11 from 6 – 9 pm
Black Diamonds celebrates Black History Month with poetry, music and dance.
Featuring the talents of Jim Adam Prophet and a few surprises, this evening is
an event you don’t want to miss. Admission is $4 per person Call 597-3344 for

Spin! Pop! Boom! - A “Mad Science” workshop
Sat, Feb 18 at 10:30 am
Watch a Mad Scientist defy gravity in this energetic and breathtaking special
event. Children and adults will be enthralled with the exotic sounds of the
didgeridoo tubes and the sight of a Mad Scientist creating an extra hand (to
help with some of the more complicated experiments, of course). An explosion of
foam will help end this event and leave the audience begging for more. Admission
is $1 per person. Reservations are required. Call 597-3344 to RSVP. Suggested
for children 4 - 12 years of age.
Queen Quibble’s Quest with Beth Epley
Sat, Feb 25 at 10:30 am
Expect royal treatment as we meet the wacky women who preside over our
imaginations. These Quintessential Queens of comedy are holding court, and
you'll be holding your sides as you giggle at the gags and antics of these
majestic matrons. Admission is $1 per person. Reservations are required. Call
