It’s an Eve Ensler Weekend at THEATREWORKS!
In addition to presenting Eve Ensler’s iconic play The Vagina Monologues on
Feb. 2, 3, 4 & 5 at 7:30pm., THEATREWORKS will also have staged readings of two
other provocative Ensler plays soon to become classics.
The Good Body, directed by Tammy Smith, will be in the Dusty Loo Bon Vivant
Theater at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2. In The Good Body, Ensler takes an inside
look at the outside, exploring the cultures of beauty, food and desire through
the eyes of women around the world. After a critically acclaimed run on
Broadway, she's bringing this provocative, hilarious and profoundly moving
performance to you. It's the theatrical event you've been craving!
Necessary Targets, directed by Katie Richeaux, will be in the Dusty Loo Bon
Vivant Theatre at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5. Necessary Targets tells the story of
two American women, a Park Avenue psychiatrist and a human rights worker, who go
to Bosnia to help women confront their memories of war and emerge deeply changed
themselves. This is a groundbreaking play about women and war – and about the
enduring resilience of the human spirit.
Both staged readings take place at the Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater located
at 3955 Cragwood Drive (near the corner of Union and Austin Bluffs). Readings
are open to the public free of charge. For more information, call 719-262-3232,
