Tragedy in Pueblo…Why?
This week awful news came from Pueblo’s East side. A young mother of three
boys lost her life at her job. Actually, it wasn’t her job; she was called in to
replace another employee that was not able to work that evening. She lost her
life just 60 seconds (by foot) from her grandfather’s house. Frank Hijar, his
daughters and extended family are asking why, why me.
We all have had those situations in business, travel, etc, and most of all
searching for true love. When things happen and the one you are seeking, says,
“its over” We ask Why?
We learn to overcome that type of disappointment. What can you tell the Hijar
family, who can answer why. Frank Hijar is a noble man, active in his church,
well respected in the community, I couldn’t help but notice while visiting at
his house, a certificate signed by the Bishop, congratulating the Hijars on 57
years of marriage. How many marriages today have gone that long? Petra Hijar
passed away last year.
My parents had told me the story of their wedding, a very snowy night, at a
hall, on the lake, in Sugar City. Some times the news stories get too close to
home. Again, I ask, why? Let us support this family as best we can. May I still
ask why?
