Toy Exchange and Winter Carnival
On December 10th from 1:00pm - 4:00pm the Catamount Institute is hosting a
toy-sensational and sustainable holiday event at the Beidleman Environmental
Center, 740 W. Caramillo St., for families with children of all ages. Children
are invited to participate in a used toy exchange and reindeer games to
celebrate the winter holidays. Admission is free, but families are asked to
bring a new toy to donate to the 14th Annual News 11 Toy Drive for Christmas
Unlimited.
Children can recycle their toys by bringing new or in-good-condition toys to
exchange for another toy that someone else has brought. Wrap the toys for the
exchange in a creative way without buying new wrapping paper, and the kids will
have a “white elephant” toy exchange and learn the value of helping the
environment by reusing toys. After the toy exchange, families can participate in
reindeer games and fun activities.
The Catamount Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring
ecological stewardship. Reservations for this free program (so the elves know
how many to expect) can be made by calling 471-0910 x105 or emailing programs@catamountinstitute.org.
Wishing you and your family all the best this holiday season!
