District 11 Seeks Committee Members
Colorado Springs School District 11 is currently seeking parent/community
members for several district committees.
Volunteers Sought for DAAC Budget Committee
The School District 11 Board of Education is seeking interested volunteers to
serve on the District Accountability Advisory Committee’s (DAAC) Budget
Committee. Please call 520-2011 for more information.
District 11 Calendar Committee
Volunteers, especially parent volunteers, are encouraged to serve on the
District 11 Calendar Committee. Please direct a letter of interest to Connie
Stanton, Division of Instruction, School District 11, 1115 N. El Paso St.,
Colorado Springs, CO 80909. You may e-mail Connie at

Parent Sounding Board
The superintendent's parent sounding board meets the third Thursday of each
month during the school year (except December and May) from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at
Tesla Educational Opportunity Center, 2560 International Circle. All District 11
parents are invited to attend and bring to Dr. Thomas' attention issues,
concerns and good things in District 11. Dr. Thomas looks forward to meeting
parents and learning from them. Please call Judy McIntire, 520-2005, for more

Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC)
D-11 seeks parents to participate on its Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC)
to address the safety, reliability, and effectiveness and efficiency of
district-provided transportation services. Participants will be involved with
evaluating the effective and efficient use of the district transportation assets
and resources. They will also participate in the evaluation of criteria for
district-provided transportation service and eligibility. Committee meetings
will be held monthly – the third Thursday of the month from September through
May – and other times as required to conduct evaluations.

Senior Citizen Sounding Board
The superintendent’s senior citizen sounding board meets the third Friday of
each month during the school year (except December and May) from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
in the Board Room at the D-11 administration building, 1115 N. El Paso St.
Community members who are at least 55 years old are welcome to attend. Please

Career and Technical Education Sounding Board
Career and Technical Education Director Laurie Maxson has established a career
and technical education sounding board. Anyone who wants to be involved in the
new sounding board is encouraged to call Laurie Maxson at 520-2365.
