Head Start
Enroll Your Child In Head Start
Free preschool and infant/toddler programs available
Plan now for fall! It’s not too late! Community Partnership for Child
Development / Head Start is now enrolling for FREE preschool and infant/toddler
programs, including Head Start and Early Head Start.
Classroom activities focus on building basic pre-math and pre-reading skills,
which are essential for helping children make a successful transition into
kindergarten and beyond. Children with special needs are welcome, and children
receive therapy as part of the daily curriculum. Most CPCD classrooms are
conveniently located in elementary schools in school districts 2, 3, 8, 11, 20,
and 22, and programs are designed to fit the needs of nearly all families. All
children enrolled in CPCD’s programs receive health and dental screenings, and
free transportation is included in some programs. Other services include
comprehensive family support, parenting classes and trainings, and GED
preparation and English language classes.
In addition, CPCD offers Head Start and Early Head Start combined with
affordable child care. Children enrolled in the child care option attend a child
care center or a private licensed child care provider’s home while their parents
work or attend school.
Families must qualify to enroll. CPCD is a United Way partner agency. Call (719)
635-1536 to learn more.
