SBA Hosts Live Web Chat on Small Business and Health Care

Karen Kerrigan and J.P. Wieske will answer questions
Thursday, August 25 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., EDT

WHAT: Karen Kerrigan, founder of the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council and J.P. Wieske, director of State Affairs for the Council for Affordable Health Insurance (CAHI) will host the U. S. Small Business Administration's August Web chat on "Health Care and Your Small Business." Kerrigan and Wieske will share their expertise in public policy and advocacy with respect to small business and cost-efficient solutions to the challenges of health care coverage.

The live, interactive SBA Web chat will engage business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in a national dialogue about health care and small business, while allowing Web chat participants to get information about affordable health coverage for their employees. Small businesses owners will also learn how they can benefit from proposed Association Health Plans and Health Savings Accounts.

WHY: The SBA's live Web chat series provides business owners with the opportunity to have conversations about relevant business issues with industry leaders and successful entrepreneurs. Participants will have direct, real-time access to the Web chats via questions they submit online in advance and during the session, with instantaneous answers.

WHEN: August 25, 2005, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. (EDT)
Kerrigan and Wieske will answer questions for approximately one hour.

HOW: Participants can join the live Web chat by going online to www.sba.gov, and clicking "Your Small Business Voice Online Chat."

Web chat participants may post a question for Kerrigan and Wieske before the August 25 chat by visiting http://app2.sba.gov/liveKerrigan/intro.cfm and posting their questions online.
