Francisco “Kikin” Fonseca, Mexico’s newest soccer star, signed with McDonald’s to encourage the Hispanic community in the United States to lead a balanced and active lifestyle.

“I am delighted to be working with McDonald’s to educate the Hispanic community about the importance of physical activity and leading a balanced and active lifestyle,” said Fonseca. “As the leader in the food industry, McDonald’s has a unique opportunity to reach people on so many levels. Together, we are committed to helping Hispanics make better choices through food and energy balance.”

Kikin Fonseca began his professional career in the Division “A” of the Mexican soccer league with Unión de Curtidores from León. He later joined the first division of the league, with Pumas from UNAM and is currently one of the lead forwards with one of Mexico’s most beloved teams, the “Maquina” from Cruz Azul. Kikin has also made his mark on the Mexican National Team were he’s one of its rising stars in the qualification period leading to World Cup 2006.

To support McDonald’s ongoing commitment, Fonseca will be encouraging the Hispanic community to join in the Go Active! American Challenge by:

- Visiting several cities across the country as part of McDonald’s educational outreach
- Participating in media opportunities that encourage children and families to include physical activity in their daily routine

“McDonald’s is thrilled to have Kikin join us in our and build from his experience in sports and close relationship with the Hispanic community,” said Ralph Alvarez, President of McDonald’s North America.
