Silver Key helps seniors get $600 free prescriptions
If you are covered by Medicare and do not have prescription assistance from
Medicaid, TriCare or a health insurance company you may be eligible for $600 in
free prescriptions this year, but the deadline to apply is March 31, 2005. Those
whose income is above the limit pay a small fee, but still get hundreds of
dollars in prescription drug savings.
The monthly income limits are $1,047.42 for a single person and $1,405.17 for a
couple.
If you miss the March 31 deadline, you will be eligible for a 450-dollar
benefit. As the year progresses the amount of credit available for new
applicants decreases by 150 dollars per quarter.
Silver Key and other organizations are available to work with area seniors to
help sign up for the program. Silver Key wants to encourage seniors to make
plans to sin up for the program in advance of the approaching deadline.
