Colorado CollegeFounded in 1874 in downtown Colorado Springs, is a top-ranked, liberal arts and sciences college enrolling 1,900 students. Best known for the innovative Block Plan, where students take and professors teach only one course at a time, Colorado College has an average class size of 14 and a 9:1 student/faculty ratio. From the beginning, Colorado College has been a co-educational institution; there were 25 students in the first class – 13 men and 12 women. Students come from every state in the nation and more than 24 countries. Sixty-one percent of students receive financial aid. Seventeen percent of CC students are students of color.
