Summer 2004 at the FAC
Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center presents Dale Chihuly: Form From Fire, a
retrospective of Dale Chihuly's love of the Native American design and its
influence on his work and the Taylor Museum's mission to collect arts of Native
American cultures. While Chihuly has been inspired by and collected arts of
Pacific Northwest Indians, the Taylor Museum has collected arts from those of
the Southwest. The exhibition will include thirteen Chihuly "basket" pieces made
of glass as well as textiles and baskets from the Taylor Museum's permanent
collection.
