Colorado State Fair Headliners 

Headliners slated to perform in the Events Center during the 2003 Colorado State Fair are Julio Iglesias, Weird Al Yankovic, Tom Jones, 3 Doors Down, Jaci Velasquez, Chicago and Pat Benattar with Neil Giraldo. The State Fair's Fiesta Weekend features La Onda and Grupo Control Aug. 31 in the Events Center. 

Country Music Headliners 

County music fans can catch a preview of coming Colorado State Fair attractions this week when six of the country music artists slated to perform this August at the State Fair are either performing, presenting or are nominated for ran award at this Wednesday's Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. 

The 38th annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be broadcast live on CBS this Wednesday, May 21, at 8 p.m. (EST). Among the country stars who are nominated for an ACM award and are performing at the 2003 Colorado State Fair are: 

Kellie Coffey, who is nominated for Top New Female Vocalist. Coffey performs with Gary Allan on Saturday, Aug. 16, in the State Fairgrounds' Grandstand following the PRCA Rodeo. 

Rascal Flatts, the ACM's 2002 New Vocal Group of the Year, which this year is nominated for Top Vocal Group. Rascal Flatts' hit single "I'm Movin On" also is nominated  for Song of the Year. The trio also will perform during the ACM Awards show. Rascal Flatts comes to the Colorado State Fair on Monday, Aug 18. 

Lonestar, last year's ACM Top Vocal Group, which is nominated for this year's Humanitarian Award. Lonestar earned the nomination for its heroic efforts around the nation and its contributions to the American Red Cross. The band recorded public service announcements, appeared in print and radio ads and became spokespeople for hurricane awareness and disaster preparedness campaigns. Lonestar performs at the State Fair on Saturday, Aug. 23. 

Three other top country artists making their way to Pueblo this August will be featured presenters at this week's ACM Awards show. They are: 

Carolyn Dawn Johnson, last year's ACM Top New Female Vocalist, and Phil Vassar, last year's ACM Top New Male Vocalist. Johnson and Vassar perform together Sunday, Aug. 17 at the Colorado State Fair.

Mark Miller, the high-energy front man for country group Sawyer Brown, which nabbed ACM's Top Vocal Group honors in 1996. Sawyer Brown takes the State Fairgrounds' Grandstand stage on Tuesday, Aug. 19. 

Tickets to each country music concert at the 2003 Colorado State Fair are $16 each and include admission to the PRCA Rodeo in the Grandstand Arena. Rodeo action begins at 7 p.m. and each scheduled concert immediately follows at approximately 9 p.m. 

Concert Series Tickets are on sale now. Gate Admission is not included with each ticket, however, State Fair management is rewarding early ticket buyers with a Free gate admission for every concert ticket purchased on or before May 24. The one-week promotional offer saves concertgoers up to $7 per concert ticket. 

Tickets can be purchased at the State Fair Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations.
