The Latino Unity Council Sponsoring Cross Organization Teambuilding Workshop
The Latino Unity Council is seeking all Latino organizations in Colorado
Springs to join us for a Cross Organizational Teambuilding workshop to be held
on FRIDAY, MARCH 21, 2003, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The workshop is being
hosted by President Jose Garcia at Pikes Peak Community College Centennial
Campus on South Academy Boulevard.
The objectives of the workshop include establishing productive communication
between and among our various local Latino organizations, understanding one
another's visions and/or missions, identifying services that are currently being
met for our local Hispanic population, identifying needs that are not being
addressed by any organizations, and beginning dialogue toward working together
as a unified team representing many unique Latino organizations in order to
reach as many people as possible while improving the quality of life of our
local Latino population.
The workshop is being designed and facilitated by Elfego Gomez, III. Mr.
Gomez is very qualified to offer a high quality workshop customized to fit our
needs, and is generously donating his valuable time to our efforts.
The number of attendees from each organization will depend upon the number of
organizations who express interest in attending. Our maximum number of
participants is 25. Sponsors have been invited to participate in order to
cover the cost of a continental breakfast, lunch, and printed materials,
therefore cost of attendance is to be announced. If you are interested in
cosponsoring this event please contact me immediately.
If your local Latino organization would like to send at least one representative
to this proactive and collaborative event, please contact me to confirm your
attendance. I look forward to seeing many of you as we join one another
for an exciting day in the spirit of unity, respect, and camaraderie.
