Allegiant Air Responds to Colorado Springs Travelers with improved schedule on Vegas Route

Airline will offer afternoon departure from Las Vegas to Colorado Springs

In response to input from travel agents, tourism officials and customers in the Colorado Springs area, Allegiant Air today announced that it will adjust its schedule on its new Las Vegas --Colorado Springs route, and will offer an afternoon departure from Las Vegas starting March 1, 2002.

Allegiant Air, which inaugurates service between Colorado Springs and Las Vegas on Thursday, February 14, said the schedule improvement is in direct response to input the airline received during a Pre-Inaugural Reception it hosted last week at COS, and comments it has received from travel agents and customers booking flights.

"Allegiant Air has received a very warm welcome and expressions of support from the Colorado Springs community," said Allegiant Air CEO Mitch Allee. "Along with that tremendous support have come recommendations on how we can make this service more successful, and an afternoon departure from Las Vegas is a virtually unanimous request. We're pleased to be responsive to the needs of the community."

Allee said that on March 1 the airline's scheduled departure from Las Vegas to Colorado Springs will be at 2:20 PM, a move from 9:30 AM. The flight from Colorado Springs to Las Vegas will remain a 5:45 PM departure. The airline will fly the route daily except Saturday.

Allegiant said that it will kick-off its new service by taking over fifty Colorado Springs-area travel agents and guests on its Inaugural Flight to Las Vegas on February 14. The airline and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority will host the travel agents until they return to COS the following day. "We're looking forward to showing the Colorado Springs travel professionals the quality of service we offer on Allegiant Air, and familiarizing them with the Las Vegas sights and sounds and terrific properties we feature in our Allegiant Vacations packaged tour products, " said Allee.
