Head Start Now Enrolling for 2002-2003 School YearParents should not wait until fall to enroll their child. Community Partnership for Child Development / Head Start is now enrolling for its FREE preschool and infant/toddler programs for the 2002-2003 school year. Families who live within El Paso County and have a child under the age of five, or are expecting a child, may qualify. Spaces in the program are limited, so parents should call 635-1536 now to learn if they qualify. Income is not the determining factor for all programs and children with special needs are welcome. Head Start, CPCD's largest and best-known program, is a free, comprehensive preschool and family program that offers a broad range of services for low-income children and those with special needs and their families. In addition to classroom activities that are interactive and age appropriate, children in the Head Start program receive medical and dental screenings, nutrition guidance, and therapy for children with special needs, and for most programs, transportation to and from school. Head Start families can participate in parenting workshops, GED preparation and literacy classes, and in their child's classroom as a volunteer. Call 635-1536 now to find out how to enroll. Don't wait until the fall! |
