Colorado Springs Annual "Oktoberfest"

"Oktoberfest 99" Expanded to Two Consecutive Weekends........

The Pikes Peak Sertoma Club and Penrose Equestrian Center are pleased to announce "Oktoberfest 99". Oktoberfest is a fund raiser for each organization, proceeds from the event will be donated to scholarships for Colorado Springs High School students, local youth activities, The Penrose Stadium development fund and charities for the hearing and speech impaired.

A long standing Colorado Springs Tradition "Oktoberfest" will feature plenty of family fun. Face Painters, Balloon Artists, Moon Walking,Um-Pa Music and Dancing. New to this years event is an Arts Crafts Fair each day as well a "Model a Car Show" (October 2nd only for the Car Show). Scrumptious Bavarian foods will be served and of course a variety great German and Domestic Oktoberfest beers will be available on tap. Paulaner, Hacker Pschorr will feature their finest Oktoberfest Brews and Americas favorite Budweiser beers will also be featured at the event.

Entertainment includes appearances by Steve Rocks "Tanzkapella", Franz Meier and "Die Weissblauen Enzianer", "The Mike Amans Band", "The Average German Band", Accordian Players and Checkoslovakian Dancers. The Music, Chicken Dancing and Family Fun will run continuously throughout the Festival.

Festival Food will include Oktoberfest Staples:

Grilled Bratwursts, Frankfurters (with kraut of course), Sausage & Cheese Bread, Fish and Chips, Hamburgers and Giant Pretzels with Beer Mustard will be served by Jamie's catering. The Alpine Chalet will prepare authentic German Dinners Including Munchner Weisswurst with Sauerkraut and German Potato Salad, Jaeger Schnitzel with Home Fries, Currywurst, Kassler Rippchen, and the Oktoberfest Platter which includes a sampling of all. Last but not least the Colorado Springs German/Austrian "Enzian" Club will temp festival go-ers with delicious and decadent German Pastries, Black Forest Torts and Warm Apple Walnut Strudel

Beverages including Lemonade, Soda Pop and Shaved Ice will be available for Oktoberfesters' of all ages.
